The article by Lavallee, Gray, Dumville & Cullum, (2018) addresses the problem of ulcer management in nursing homes. According to Johansen et al, the pressure ulcers results in localized damage to the skin which impacts the quality of the patient life by delaying recovery, causing pain and immobility. The objective of the research was to analyze the pressure ulcers prevention techniques in the nursing homes and identify challenges and the facilitators of using the evidence based-guidelines. The article is important in the nursing practice because provides important knowledge on how the nursing homes can implement the evidence-based guidelines for the pressure ulcer prevention and strategies to reduce the challenges when implementing the guidelines.
